Morgan Freeman Date and place of Birth Extra Information He was the son of Mayme Edna, a teacher, and Morgan Porterfield Freeman, a barber who died April 27, 1961, from cirrhosis. He has three older siblings. His family moved frequently during his childhood, living in Greenwood, Mississippi, Gary, Indiana, and finally Chicago, Illinois. Place of birth: Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A Date: June 1, 1937 (age 75) Morgan Freeman has publicly criticized the celebration of Black History Month and does not participate in any related events, saying, "I don't want a black history month. Black history is American history." He says the only way to end racism is to stop talking about it, and he says that there is no "white history month."Morgan Freeman said on an interview with 60 Minutes' Mike Wallace, "I am going to stop calling you a white man and I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man." Morgan Freeman supported the defeated proposal to change the Mississippi state flag, which contains the Confederate battle flag. How has Morgan Freeman's life influenced people today What challenges did Morgan Freeman had to face What has Morgan Freeman done to become a significant figure in our society Morgan Freeman has influenced a lot of young people by what he says, his charismatic personality, humbleness, and simplicity makes him a good role model for the young people who want to become famous to imitate him. Also that he fought against racism and didn't care about what the other people said about him when he was acting. He just minded his own business. Some of the challenges that Morgan Freeman had to deal with were death threats and racial comments that were sent to him when he was first becoming an actor. The racial comments would usually say "your black your not gonna go no where with acting" and he would get a lot of them per week. once he started getting more famous and acting in more movies the racial comments and threats died down a lot. But he still gets criticize by his colour. As with all actors when they start making movies and starring in them they become a significant figures. Morgan Freeman is one of those people. Morgan Freeman doesn't only act when hes off stage he also helps funds of countries who were struck by hurricane Ivan.
