Its Positive Affect on Education

Teachers are taking steps today to incorporate computer and video games into learning.
Video games can have educational value, such that both children and adults can develop new skills when playing digital games.

Skills such as development of strategic thinking, information-gathering, problem solving, planning, adaptation to changing contexts, and flexibility.

A study performed at the University of Wisconsin by Dr. James Paul concluded that video games instructions and demonstrations, is a much more effective learning technique than the style currently found in most classrooms.

Children and adolescents can become overly involved and even obsessed with video games. Spending large amounts of time playing these games can create problems.

Examples:
Time away from school-work
Lower grades and reading less
Aggressive thoughts and behaviors
