Roaring Twenties
Why the "roaring twenties"?
This was a time period of great prosperity and success in America
Along with the "roaring twenties", this decade was also referred to as the "Jazz Age"
The 20's redefined what it meant to be a woman

Flappers
"Flappers" were a new kind of women. They wore short skirts, bobbed their hair,listened to Jazz and went to parties, just like the men.
Economical boom
The end of World War I led to many scientific achievements and technological advances. Many new "gadgets" were introduced:

Boyish short hair
Shorter skirts
Shoulders exposed
Highheels to dance the Charleston
Women dressed like this in late 1800's and early 1900's (Victorian Fashion):

Culture

The Great Gatsby is considered to be one of the best books in universal literature.
