Transcript of The Shang Dynasty
Emperors and Nobles
This class of people were highest of all and lived within the city walls. Their homes were luxiorious and beautiful lavished as well as having the finest food, which included different spices. When the emperors died, they were buried with dogs and their guards would be buried alive to protect them after life.
Craftmen and artisans
Peasants and farmers
Finally, the last and poorest class of all, the peasant farmers. They were the last class. They would farm on the noble's land but never owned any land. After farming the crops, the peasant farmers could only take a little bit of food for themselves and their family. If a farmer was caught hoarding food, they would be killed straight away.
