"Catching Fire" 2. As Katniss fails to convince the districts that her actions with the berries were an act of love for Peeta, she comes back to District Twelve to discover that the third Quarter Quell is being announced. For the seventy-fifth Hunger Games, the Capitol will choose victors of previous Hunger Games to be placed as tributes in the arena. Katniss, knowing she is the only female victor of District Twelve, will be forced to participate in the Hunger Games. Peeta volunteers to take Haymitch's place for the male tribute. From this act, Katniss decides to devote her life into protecting Peeta's. 1.Katniss and Peeta have won the seventy-fourth Hunger Games. As Katniss prepares for the victors tour, She finds President Snow in her house in the victors village. President Snow explains how he is angry because of her actions with the berries and how she has caused chaos in the districts. He tells Katniss that if she does not convince the districts that her actions with the berries were an act of intense love for Peeta, her loved ones would be put in danger. 3.Katniss and Peeta make their way to the Capitol to prepare for the Games. During this time of preparation, Katniss learns more about the other tributes and surprisingly gets a twelve during the "talent show" part of training by hanging a dummy and finger painting the name "Seneca Crane" on it. Peeta also recieves a twelve by demonstrating his talent of art by drawing a picture of Rue on the carpet. The Gamemakers gave Katniss and Peeta a twelve so they could be targeted by other tributes. During the interviews, Peeta announces the false statement to all of Panem that Katniss is pregnant with his baby. When Katniss appears on stage for her interview, her white wedding dress bursts into flames and reveals a mockingjay costume underneath. Katniss steps on the metal plate and she is carried into the arena. The Games have begun. 4.The blood bath begins as everybody rushes toward the cornucopia. Katniss swims there and grabs the bow and arrow. She starts searching for Peeta and accepts Finnick's proposal of alliance. Finnick carries Peeta back to shore and they all make a run for it into the woods. Knowing there is no fresh water source, Haymitch sends them a spile. The next morning they encounter Johanna, Beetee, and Wiress. Beetee and Wiress discover that the arena is in the formation of a clock. After Wiress's death, Beetee comes up with a plan to harnest electricity from a metal tree to supposedly kill Brutus and Enobaria, but really to blow a hole in the arena's force field by using a wire. As Katniss and Johanna carry the wire over to the tree, Johanna knocks Katniss to the ground and uses a knife to dig out the tracking device out of her arm. That's when the force field blew up and District Thirteen rescued Katniss, Beetee, and Finnick while Peeta, Johanna, and Enobaria got captured by the Capitol.
