Kurt Cobain was born on February 20th 1967 in Hoquiam, Washington.
He could write songs that made you think the song was about you no matter who you were. His music was also different from regular rock and roll music instead of always hard upbeat music his music was hard upbeat music but also it would get lower too.
Kurt Cobain had a wife named Courtney love and he met her in Portland, OR and after a while they had a baby girl named Francis Bean.
Nirvana created a style of music that combined punk and rock. This new style was called Grunge. Before Nirvana, punk wasn't a major part of popular music. Through this they changed rock'n roll forever. Because of Nirvana Grunge has become one of the most known genres of music out there.
The band originated in Aberdeen, WA. when Krist Novoselic and Kurt Cobain became friends.
They met while frequening the practice space of the Melvins.
They came out with their first album called Bleach in November 1988.

Kurt Cobain played guitar but he constantly smashed them.
He was also left handed so it was hard to find guitars that he could use.
Their simple combination of drums, singing, guitar and base guitar made their music likable to many people of different ages.
They inspired lots of bands including Bush, Stone Temple Piots, Seether, Weezer, Radiohead, and The Foo Fighters which was formed by Dave Grohl after Kurt Cobain's death
Kurt Cobain's suicide effected many peole around the world and it was a sad, sad day.
Kurt Cobain played the guitar and sang while Krist Novolselic played the base guitar.
Mostly Dave Grohl played the drums but sometimes other people played.
