In factories and Laboratories, no. Because most jobs are now being taken over by machines, and i think in the future this job will too.

What type of work do people in this career perform?
Food engineers work solely with food products. These engineers often have many different tasks ranging from the creation of new foods to identifying ways to preserve packaged foods longer. They also test the process of food equipment , and create new techniques for processing food.
What are the major job responsibilities?
Test the process and the utilization of food equipment. Develop and design new food equipment. Research and create new foods and pharmaceutical products. Offer marketing and technical support for food manufacturing companies.

I think engineers will have a big impact on our future, there are engineers for countless things. And they can only make appliances, electronics,and processes or methods easier.

Yes there are many different engineering jobs out there, and many of them sound fun and interesting. A lot of them seem hands-on and i like jobs like that.
