are words that mean the opposite of each other. Example: the
opposite of guilty is innocent or the antonym of complicated is simple.
Match the words with their antonyms.

changes a word's meaning or part of speech. The suffixes -al and -ial mean "of" or "related to." These suffixes changes noun to an adjective or a verb to a noun. Controversy is a noun. Controversial is an adjective.
Circle the correct words in your book.
In the article, the author states that the superintendent of Mishawaka schools does not want students to use foul language.

What type of language does he want students to use? Write a list of words describing the type of language that the superintendent would approve of.
In "Rockers, Rappers, and Freedom of Speech," the author uses the word "detrimental." The suffix of this word is -al. With a partner, brainstorm a list of other words that contain the suffix -al.
