At The Van
Once at the van give all guests a tote bag and a bottle of water. Let the guests know it is approximately an hour ride to the resort and their luggage will be taken to their room once it is ready.

Mention the Miraval cell phone policy and to make any last minute e-mails or texts before arriving at the resort.

Tell them their Miraval Experience Starts NOW!!!!

The Drive
Play the required "spa" music. We are relaxing our guests from a stressful travel day!

During your ride to Miraval let the guests know the hours of Cactus Flower, Palm court, Brave Bill,the BMC and Spa. (see handout script)

Be sure to explain Dinner Reservations in Cactus Flower and that the guests may eat dinner in Brave Bill without a reservation.

Answer any questions the guest may have!!!

Guests may have questions on the trip in from the airport. The following are some common questions:
Check in time is 3:00 P.M.
Cactus Flower Restaurant hours:
Breakfast 6:30 am - 10:00 am
Lunch 11:30 am – 2:00 pm
Dinner 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Palm Court Hours 6:00 am – 4:00 pm
Brave Bill Lounge hours 4:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Breakfast and lunch are buffet or off of menu
Spa 8:00 am - 9:00 pm
Treatments 9:00 am - 10:00 pm
Raindance Pass hours 8:00am – 6:00pm


Arriving at Miraval
When arriving at Miraval, and enter the driveway, welcome your guests to Miraval.

Once you have entered the resort point out the Agave center, Yucca Cabana, Water treatments, Spa, and Guest services; including the Activity rooms, Raindance Pass, Restaurant, Palm Court and Brave Bill Lounge.

Once again, explain luggage will be sent to their room as soon as it’s available and when departing they will be leaving from the departure area outside of Raindance Pass.



Departure

The van should be pulled up to the front of the departure center 15 minutes prior to departure if possible. Passenger doors open, step stool placed in front of doors and rear luggage doors open.

Prior to departing it is important to engage the guests, ask them how they are doing thank them for their stay at Miraval. This the last chance to turnaround a unhappy guest before leaving the resort.

When all passengers are aboard the van explain it is approximately an hour ride and there are only two concourses at Tucson International Airport and we stop between the two concourses for the convenience of everyone on board. If there only a few passengers stop at their designated airline.

No No's for Drivers

Under no circumstances should you eat food in the van .

Do not speed or appear to drive recklessly.

Stop or alter course without radioing for approval.

Never use the van for personal use

Remember, you are the first & last impression our guests see of Miraval.
Make sure they have a positive experience and make their trip as pleasant as possible.

Obey all traffic laws.

Maintain a lawful and safe speed. Use extra caution driving in in high traffic and parking lots.

When you return:
Return the van keys.

Mark down the ending mileage.

Lock all van doors.

Report any damage or any other safety related items on your driver report!

Doing a safety check of the Vans
When you get to your assigned van, take a moment to do a safety check:
Make sure there are no:
Flat tires
Major scrapes or dents
Lit dashboard indicator lights

If you find any of these issues, please notify the Transportation Coordinator or Manager on Duty immediately.

Remember to wear your Seat Belt!!
Parking the Vans

The vans are typically parked in the Union Lane Garage in the “State Vehicle Parking” spots at the top of the garage.
DO NOT park the vans in a numbered spot in Union Lane
Garage.
If the State Vehicle spots are filled, park the van in Lot Z or 1b*.



*When you return, be SPECIFIC when you write in the van
binder. Remember to include the parking lot and the location so the next driver can find the van easily.


Fueling the Vans (1 of 2)
Please be considerate of the other schools that you share the van with and make sure that the gas tank is always filled. If you notice that the tank is ¼th full or less, please take the time out to fill up the tank completely.
The fueling station is located at the Severn Building, which is on Greenbelt Road.
**Important note: MTS is open from 7am-4pm, Monday through Friday. This means that most refueling must happen before or after America Reads in the morning or before America Counts in the afternoon.

How to pump (Directions can also be found at the pump):
Park at a pump and open the tank door
Locate the License Plate #, the odometer reading (current mileage) and the last 4 digits of the VIN #, which is located on a sticker in the front windshield or the inside of the door on the driver’s side.

Enter:
The license plate number
The current mileage
The last four of the VIN #
The pump number
Press Enter
Pump Away!



What to do after an Accident
Steps to Take In Case of an Accident / One-Vehicle Incident:
Check that everyone is okay.
Call 911 the police to file police report.
Accidents and vehicle damage must be reported to the police within 24 hours.
At no time should you admit fault for the accident.
Contact Transportation Coordinator, Safety Manager or the Manager on Duty immediately.
Fill out an accident form which can be found in the Van Glove Box.

Before you depart - at the van:

When you get to the van, do a visual check of the van to make sure that there is no damage, such as a dent or flat tire. If there is damage, report it immediately to the Transportation Coordinator.

Wear Your Seatbelt.


Once the guest is identified make sure you introduce yourself and welcome them to Miraval and thank them for staying with us. Let them know what carousel their luggage will be arriving.
From this point forward it is important the guest is identified by name.
