"Chinese religion" is a term describing the complex interaction of different religious and philosophical traditions that have been influential in China.
Chinese religion is composed of four main traditions
Buddhism has a history of 2000 years in China.
Taoism, native to China, has a history of over 1,700 years.
Chinese folk religion
Islam was introduced to China in the seventh century.
Catholicism was introduced into China intermittently in the seventh century, but had not spread widely until after the Opium War in 1840.
Protestantism was first brought to China in the 19th century and spread widely after the Opium War.

Each is represented by an animal of the Chinese zodiac.

Chinese traditions
A country as ancient and enigmatic as China has a rich tradition that amazes and wonder to the world.
Among the most outstanding traditions we find:
The Spring Festival
This celebration begins on the first day of the first lunar month. This festival lasts fifteen days, during which offerings are made to the gods of heaven and earth, as well as the sculptures of ancestors of each family. This celebration is known more as the Chinese New Year.
The Lantern Festival
This festival takes place during the months of February and March, has the peculiar feature that the people light lanterns in order to show respect to Buddha.
The Winter Solstice Festival
This festival is an analogy to the Christmas festivities, only in China held on 22 and 23 December. And the guest of honor at this event is the soup dumplings.
The Dragon Boat Festival
This festival takes place in the fifth month of the lunar calendar and celebrated in honor of the Chinese poet Qu Yuan
