"First Cut" Bills Brought Before the Advisory Councils for Input and High/Medium/Low Ranking PAIMI PADD PAIR et al Public Policy Staff collects information about legislation from other organizations ARC NCCD NABHO DDPC HHS Regions Advocates Appleseed Center Bazelon Center NCIL NDRN 3 PPT synthesizes committee recommendations, information from other organizations, and other factors (e.g., what NAS can do with the resources NAS has, where bills are in the cycle already, strength of support, etc.) to produce NAS legislative priorities and positions for Board of Directors approval (the bill chart today) 4 1

Repeals Nebraska's mandatory motorcycle helmet law; requires eye protection in lieu of helmet; allows riders 15-20 yrs old to ride without helmet with proof of completing safety course LB 242
