DYSTOPIAN SOCIETY PROJECT
goverment controlled society
Individualism in the U.S. is a given right to everyone from saying anything you feel like saying, to believing in any religion you so wish. This is all in the constitution in the very beginning, in fact it’s the first right all U.S. citizens. Better yet there are two documents made to protect individualism. Both the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of America are there for not to protect your Individualism but to restrict the government from taking over the country. this charectoristic is not present in 1984 because people that act out by themselves will be "vaporized".
propaganda manages society
The united states of America is does not represent a dystopia with this characteristic because we have the first amendment which protects the media and the peoples rights ,"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. this shows how the government in the U.S.A does not have any control over the media in the U.S which reduces the chance for the government to use propaganda in media to help control its citizens. And because the media is free to say whatever they want I believe America is turning into a utopia. this is not shown in 1984 because all talk against the goverment will be punnished
citizens conform and shun individuality
Individuals in America do not shun individuality or standing out and in fact are now more than ever embracing things that create the idea of individuality such as gay marriagewhich is being represented in this picture.. Also in America the economy is driven by companies such as apple that were made by an individual that decided not to do what society was doing and they did not shun them. for example when steve jobs decided not to do what the norm was and drop out of college to create apple he was not shunned by society he was accepted .This leads me to believe that the united states is becoming a utopian society.
citizens fear outside world
In this respect America is not becoming a dystopia because Americans do not fear the outside world and in fact are willing to take vacations to places like in this picture eastern Europe. This shows how America is becoming a utopia by the fact that Americans are well informed by our free media of the outside world and because of this Americans are not afraid of the outside world like they would be if America were a dystopia. Where as people in oceania are made by the government to completely fear the outside world.

individuality restricted
america is becoming a utopia.
The U.S. can’t this trait and it won’t be happening anytime soon. Why is this? Because of our four fathers who build this country have made a list of rules that says Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.. The best thing about this is that every American has this at birth and cannot be taken away no matter what.
