BAKING
ALL ABOUT BAKING
Baking is my favourite hobby!
The History of Baking:
How it was founded and how the skill became known worldwide:
In 2100 BC bread was beginning to be baked by the Egyptians, who learnt the skill from the Babylonians. This was known as the first cooking method done by Egyptians. However, the actual concept of baking was not done until later centuries.
In 300 BC, the Romans introduced pastry making to the world. They discovered the art of pastry. Pastry work became a respected profession in Rome and because of that many people became pastry chefs. In 1 AC there were more than 300 pastry chefs in Rome.
Eventually, the Roman art of baking became known throughout Europe and eventually spread to Asia. Soon after, baking was heard of world-wide. Right now, in the 21st century, baking is performed for fun, for competitions and at resturaunts and cafes. Baking is recognised as an enjoyable and amazing activity. That's why I love it.
The difference between cooking and baking...

cooking is savoury
usually entrees and mains
baking is sweet
more fun in my opinion

They bake in competitions.
translations-a transformation that moves all points of a figure the same distance in the same direction
rotation-a transformation that turns every point of a preimage through a specified angle and direction about a fixed point, called the center of rotation
In baking: frosted flowers upon a cake are the same stroke rotated multiple times

Baking has changed a lot since I was born, from the technique used to the technology, but cake decorating has changed the most.
A decade ago, cakes used to be simple on the outside and all that mattered was the taste.
Now cakes have glazes, curds, cream, toppings, as well as an assortment of icing types.
The flavours of cakes used to be mainly vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
Now cakes have many different flavours such as mango, peppermint, pomegranate, carrot, lime, peanut butter, apple, caramel, the list could go on.
The shapes of cakes were only round, and maybe square shaped if you were lucky.
Now we can get all types of cake shapes, from hearts to shoes.
Cake decorating has changed a lot in a decade: now it has become more of a choice, many more options and much more fun to do. This is one aspect of baking that I love.

WHY I CHOSE BAKING AS MY FAVOURITE HOBBY
There is no doubt baking is a fun and creative hobby.
By the transitive property:

geometry = deliciousness

It involves creativity in making the masterpiece dessert.
The possibilities of making a dessert are nearly endless.
(obviously!)
CAKE!!!

fun
endless possibilities
can create many different desserts
feels good after accomplishment
People do baking because...
Their skill is baking.
They do it as a living.
They do it for fun.
It is their passion.
They like to create new things.
CAKE DECORATING - HOW IT HAS CHANGED OVER TIME:
I LOVE BAKING!!!
FUN CREATIVE AND ENTERTAINING
BAKING IS MY PASSION!
After you make the dessert, you get to eat it, which is good.
Using my baking hobby and this information on my Prezi, I am going to create a cardboard cupcake, using different materials as "frosting" and decorations. I am then going to put pictures and facts on the cupcake. This will be my project for Design and Technology Term 1.
