Persian cultures believe the cypress tree is a symbol of freedom and integrity. It was thought that the essence of the tree carried with it truthfulness, so anyone who breathed in the scent of the tree could only be trustworthy when in its presence.

Because our client bases are generally made up of individuals experiencing varying types and degrees of crisis our job requires a special skill set. Our very characters and the fabric of who we are are our most valuable tools.
In the field of human services being qualified as a professional exceeds merely meeting educational requirements. Acceptance, active listening, communication, empathy, emotional awareness, and interpersonal skills must become a part of the helpers character if they are to be effective when assisting clients.
