Apple Macintosh- 1984
HP-85 Microcomputer
January 3, Hewlett Packard introduced the HP-85 microcomputer with 16 GB of RAM, this changed the computing industry because it enabled people to store more things in their ram without having to insert a chip or card of some sort.





Games/Movies
1980 - Starwars Episode V is released
1980 June 17 - Atari becomes the first company to issue a copyright on two computer games, Asteroids and Lunar Lander.
1981 - Jeff Dailey, a 19-year old becomes the first person to die from computer gaming after dying from a heart attack after posting a score of 16,660 on Berzerk.
1982 July 9 - Disney releases Tron, the first movie to use computer generated effects.
1982 - Lucas Arts is founded.
1983 May 25 - Starwars Episode VI is released.

QDOS
1981, Microsoft bought QDOS rights from Seattle Computer Products for $25000. QDOS other wise known as "Quick and Dirty Disc Operating System" is a command line operating system which is one of the first ways people used to program their computers. When Microsoft bought it they turned it into MS-DOS.




Apple Message Pad
-In March 1993 Psion released the
series 3a PDA and HP.

-HP Cougar in May.

-In August Apple released their first
device based on the Newton platform,
the MessagePad.

-First device with a stylus and handwriting
recognition.

-The MessagePad and the eMate 300
was at their end with the discontinuation of Newton.

-From 1993 until October 1995 it was mostly Apple releasing updates for the MessagePad/Newton and HP upgrading the cougar.
Technology Advancements
1980-2000
In December 1984 the Apple Computers were made famous.

Macintosh Television commercial, it was aired on a small unknown station.

They spent 1.5 million dollars and it only ran once in 1983, but then the news and talk shows replayed it, making it TV history.

Apple Macintosh ran the same ad the next month on the NFL Super Bowl and million of viewers saw their first glimpse of the Macintosh computer.

The commercial was directed by Ridley Scott, and the Orwellian scene depicted the IBM world being destroyed by a new machine, the "Macintosh".

1985 - Gamepad is released by Nintendo.
1985 - Turtle Beach Systems are founded
1986 Pixar Is co-founded by Steve Jobs
1986 - Ubisoft Is founded
1987 - StarTrek The Next Generation the tv show premieres.
1993 - NAVIDA Is founded
1995 November 22 - Toy Story Is released.
1999 - Starwars Episode I is released.
Compact Disc
A Computer factory in Germany owned by "Philips" created the worlds first compact disc in 1982. The compact disc aka CD is a small flat round disc read by CD-ROM and can hold up to 650 MB of data.


Zoran

The Java Computer Language
was invented in 1995.
Java is a programming language and environment.

In 1983 Zoran is founded. Zoran is he main manufacturer of Digital audio,PC video, DVD solutions, digital cameras and other solutions. Zoran also created Oak Technology.

This program was invented by James Gosling and others in 1994

Scanning Tunneling Microscope
The scanning tunneling microscope is widely used in both industrial and fundamental research to obtain atomic-scale images of metal surfaces.

It provides a three-dimensional profile of the surface which is very useful for characterizing surface roughness, observing surface defects, and determining the size and conformation of molecules and aggregates on the surface.
