Lives of Early Romans
Many Roman people lived by farming
Land was very fertile but life there wasn't easy
They worked mostly on small plots of land
They planted mostly grains such as wheat and barley
The Founding Rome
Romulus- founder of Rome; suckled with his twin brother Remus by a wolf after their parents (Mars and Rhea Silvia) abandoned them; Romulus killed Remus in an argument over the building of Rome
Legend-a traditional story sometimes popularly regarded as historical but unauthenticated.
Aeneas-a mythical Greek warrior who was a leader on the Trojan side of the Trojan War; hero of the Aeneid
It starts out with the twins Romulus and Remus descendants of Aeneas (or so it's said). They were abandoned as kids and were rescued by a wolf. The two decided to found a city but they argued about the place. Romulus killed his brother and traced Rome's boundaries by the Palatine Hill.
