Infrastructure Network: Excellent local air, highway, and railroad services, exports
Communications Software & Information Technology Network: made up of 3,500 companies, employing 40,000 people.
Tourism: business, vacation, family Los Angeles Eco Village 500 people spread over a two block radius
Located on Vermont Ave, one of the most congested and polluted areas of LA
Aims to Increase quality of life while reducing environmental impact Integrated Society LAEV established itself in the midst of an existing neighborhood.
Aimed to create relationship between neighbors through community activities such as potluck dinners, community gardens, and other projects.
The L.A. Eco-Village Demonstration is part of an international network of sustainable neighborhood groups which seek to model healthier ways of living based on environmental sustainability and social and economic justice.
Although very different, both of these urban cities are “designed with consideration of environmental impact, inhabited by people dedicated to minimization of required inputs of energy, water and food, and waste output of heat, and air and water pollution.”
