Transcript of Chipmunks
By Olivia Cadrain,
Chipmunks are omnivores
To start off, chipmunks are mistaken by many people to be herbivores, but that's wrong. A chipmunk is an omnivore, this means it eats plants and animals. For example they eat: small bugs, berries, fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts.
Chipmunks are curious, smart, and interesting creatures! They are fast at learning and running, BUT NOT SINGING. They cannot sing, so don't be mistaken by the movies!
Chipmunks are found in North America and Asia wich is known to 25 chipmunk species! Some chipmunks like to burrow in the ground and make tunnel pathways, while others like to settle in a small bush, log, nest, or in tall grasses.
Difference between chipmunks and squirrels
Some people have a hard time separating squirrels and chipmunks. This is a common problem that people run into. One way you can tell is by the stripe down the chipmunks back while the squirrel has no stripe, another is the size, chipmunks are much smaller then squirrels. The last one is their tails, the chipmunk has a long skinnier tail while the squirrel has medium fat one.
I hope you enjoyed my prezi and you have learned a lot!
