The money started like thousands of years ago. Money started by bartering (trading) they used to trade cows for pigs or lemons for corn etc.Money has value it is really important to some country's.The problems of bartering (trading) were, sometimes it was to heavy to carry around, they didn't have that many value, and the things they traded didn't last long.
Currency ( money or objects)

Each of the cultures in the world had currency (money or objects). The characteristics were sometimes the things were light they were also valuable they were also rare (unusual) and they were also hard to find. Examples shells, feathers, salt, colurful stories. Roman soldiers paid with salt Native Americans trade eagles feathers.
Precious metals were rare easily shaped and weighted. They started minting coins like 2,600 years ago they maid it gold and silver, rough and crucle (not even), not standered size/ weight. They started minting in the middle east later in time they used pure gold or silver. Symbols were the early Europeans, the rulers, They told when, where, by whom. Chinese coins used to have a hole in the middle to put a stick or a ribbon threw it. Chinese people used cooper to do their coins they stamped their worth (value).
T'sai lun invented chinese paper money like 1,900 years ago 700 years later the government run out of coper (they used copper to do their paper money). They used to do paper money by hand. For the printing they used wooden blocks they put some ink on the bottom and pasted on the paper, coins were still available. The paper machine money started in Europe in 1400 Johannes Gutenberg invented the paper money machine.
Checks are invisible money and checks are used so banks keep track of money saved. Debit cards almost do the same things as checks well not really debit cards take cash from bank accounts. Credit cards borrow money, pay interest. Interest gets bigger the longer it takes to pay back
