how far away from earth
sun is a star
Stars are big balls of exploding gas that we see billions of years after they have stopped burning. This is because they are millions of light years away. A light year is.......... The sun is the center of the solar system, which means that all of the planets revolve around it. It is around 15 million degrees Celcius in the center and almost 150 million kms from Earth! All of the planets in our solar system revolve around the sun. There are eight planets :
The first four are made up of rock and have few or no moons (Earth only has one moon). The last four are huge balls of gas with rings around them and lots of moons.
