Supernatural during the renaissance Era During the Renaissance Era, people blamed anything bad to be the cause of supernatural, from sick animals and bad crops to fires and big storms. What is supernatural? supernatural is the manifestation or event attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature. Superstitions and supernatural By:Jasvir Rai Supernatural Why? people blamed anything bad to be the cause of supernatural is because back than there was no technology, where they can search for answers to their problems, no medicine to cure their pains, or scientific explanations to why these things were happening. so they were only left with one thing. Which was their religion beliefs and teachings. They did whatever their religion told them to do. So relgion played big role in the belief of supernaturals. Magic during the Renaissance The magic of the Renaissance was based on the in-depth analysis of ancient texts, such as Hermes's Liber Sacer or the Arab Picatrix, and intended to be purely astral in nature. The study of magic, whether it was good or bad gave the mage the knowledge necessary to exercise power over the inhabitants of the spirit world, who in turn exercised great power in the world of the mundane. It is clear that the power behind the magic, in the Renaissance mindset, was the working of unembodied daemons, spirits who obeyed the will of the magician, whether the magic be black or white. For the Renaissance philosopher magic was a spiritual science which, like the Cosmos itself, was arranged in a triple hierarchy: material, celestial and divine.
