Why should I obey these commands?
We have been loved as enemies

We love because of and to show the Spirit

God's redemptive plan

Future Reward

Perfection in Maturity

Love frees us from the bondage of hurt that others put us in with their sin.
Commands of Love to Obey
1. Pray for them
God's will
God's justice
God's provision
God's restraint
God's mercy

2. Live Peaceable with All
Repay no one evil for evil
Give thought to do what is honorable
Never avenge yourselves
If he is hungry, feed him, if he is thirsty, give
him something to drink
Live Peaceably With All Men
It is a command of restraint
It is a command of proactive thought
It is a command of a reasoned response
Matthew 5:44-45

“44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
3. Do not be Overcome but,
Romans 8:18

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
You are free by the gospel positionally, this is a call to be free experientially by Spirit empowered obedience
