How to Weave on a Cardboard Loom
Transcript of How to Weave on a Cardboard Loom
Place it between the first slit in the cardboard.
Leave about a 3 inch tail hanging off the back of the cardboard.
Tape the piece to the cardboard to secure it. Step 1. Warp Yarn Pull the yarn straight down the front of the cardboard into the first slit on the opposite side of the cardboard.
Then wrap the yarn around the first flap and into the second slit.
Continue by pulling the yarn upwards to the top of the cardboard and into the second slit and around the third flap.
Keep Stringing back and forth over the cardboard until you have achieved your desired width. Step 2. If you follow directions correctly,
the end product will be that much... Take a 3foot long piece of string (the same color or another)
Thread the strand on the tapestry needle and leave a 2 inch tail at the end. ( you can double the string if you want it thicker)
Pass the needle under the first strand of yarn and over the second.
Continue alternating over and under and keep pulling the strand until you reach the end
Keep cutting 3 foot pieces as needed or until you have reached the your desired length.
Make sure to leave 2 inches of string (the warp) at the bottom of the cardboard to be able to tie those pieces into knots. Step 3. The Weft When you finish with the 3 foot strand of string you have to leave a 3 inch tail and tape it to the cardboard
The start weaving with another piece of string at the point you left off. Step 4. Thread each loose end on the needle and pass it through the end of the weaving .
Remove the weaving from the loom by bending the cardboard tabs
Cut the yarn loops in half and tie them in a knot Step 5. SWEETER!! DON'T FORGET!!
