a class 1 is where the fulcrum is between the effort and the load. For exzample our fulcrum is between the pieaces of wood (which would be the spring and the chain). the catapult that we are making is a class 1 because a class one has the fulcrum in the middle and the load and effort on the side. A catapult is something you use to throw or hurl something. Catapult our fulcrum is made with wood but then we had to put some spacers in so it wouldn't move. the effort would be the spring from a old stove. the spring to hold it down is from a drain. our fulcrum is 32 inches the width of our base is 10 inches and the length is 36 1/2 inches our second test run we shot it 31 feet!! our first test run was only 25 feet. the width of our load is 4 inches and the length is 4.25 inches. the end!! 8)
