Transcript of In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Sub lines are used to direct the reader to the appropriate page they wish to go to. The sub line for my feature article is 'EXCLUSIVE! King Sean speaks of his rise to fame from rags to riches "It's all a bit mad still..."'. This is used to give the reader a taster of what is to come in the actual article and entice them to delve in and read the article.
Using the front cover as a template, I was able to impose the style of layout and text on it unto my contents, creating a house style and keeping the style of page flowing with the white and gold colors.
Like the rap magazine on the right, I kept the style of layout the same by using the same type of columning for my sub lines. Columns are common in magazines.
The title is the largest text on the page. It uses the same style as the front cover (house style) this is so that it doesn't make the magazine aesthetically unpleasing. The fact that it is titled 'Contents' makes it helpful for the reader to decipher which page he is on and wished to be directed to.
1) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My main image is similar to the one on the right due to the fact that it is also positioned on the right side of the contents page, but differs as well because the model in my magazine is looking at the watch on his wrist, whilst the artist on the right is looking into the camera - or at the audience. Unlike the rap magazine on the right, the photo of the model on the left was taken and modified to suit the house style of my magazine, so instead of being a typical coloured picture, I decided to go outside the box and greyscale the photo, as I had with my front cover in order to make it appropriate.
