The 50's fashion began in 1947 with Christian Dior's "New Look"
By 1951, Blenciaga made dresses without waistline.
Dior's new look consisted of below mid calf-length, full skirts (either flowing or tight), pointed bust, small waist, and rounded shoulder lines.

Credit Card system was introduced in America
Pucci opened Fashion House of Emilio Pucci
Mass production of computers
Color TV and rock & roll started in the U.S.
I.D. cards came out for South Africans to identify race

R&B, jazz, blues, and rock & roll music was very popular in the 50's.
Marilyn Monroe was born on June. 1, 1926 in Los-Angles, California, US. Her real name was Norma Jeane Mortenson, she married three times. She was an American actress, model and singer. Monroe received a lot of awards like David Di Donatello award and some nominations.
In 1999, she was ranked as the sixth-greatest female star of all time by the American Film Institute.
She died on August 5, 1962 at the at 4:25 a.m. from a Barbiturate overdose and she rests in peace in Western Village Memorial Park Cemetery, Westwood, Los-Angles, US.
Men usually wore a grey suit with a tie and a hat. They also wore an overcoat called paletot, which also women wore. Unlike the Sillouettes, the trousers didn't change much from the 50's to now.
