The main character
Antagonist

Minor

Dynamic
Characters who undergo a significant change during the story
Static
Characters who do NOT undergo a significant change during the story

Characters who are well-developed (we see all different traits)
Flat
Characters for whom we see only one or two character traits-- not well-developed
Foil
A character whose contrast with another character helps us understand him better
