Free-time Secondary Reinforcers:
Becomes reinforced over time through frequent association with one or more existing reinforcers (praise accompanied with a treat or other type of reward)...but not too often!! Never Underestimate the Power of a Kind Word!! Punishment:
Gentle reinforcement, loss of privileges, & response cost (losing previously earned reinforcers) Token Economy:
Provide your students with immediate reinforcement in the form of points or slips of paper that will allow them to "purchase" desired objects/privileges. is your friend!!! Students will be more open to your lessons if they feel that it applies to them.
Help your students to understand how they can apply what they have learned to their lives.
Most importantly, use methods they are familiar with to teach...... Teach with Emotion! Be Creative!
Engage the emotions of your students!
Do not simply read from the text! Students are more likely to retain information if they have an emotional response to the material. Apply a Few Behaviorist Principals Dialectic - A question-and-answer format used to arrive at the truth; Developed by Socrates.

Utilize discussion and in-depth questioning to clarify your answers.
Use this method to engage your students in the lesson.
Encourage them to use this method with YOU. Make Learning Applicable to/for the students The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires... Tell...Explain...Demonstrate...INSPIRE! The Socratic Method The most memorable teachers are those who can admit they don't know it all and who are not afraid to laugh at themselves & with others. Have Fun!!
