Thank you for your attention

In today’s world where we can do many stuff from home, just by pressing one click, we can take advantage of that by making online solutions for the shortage of blood donors. This web-based blood bank can save lives by educating the public of the benefits of blood donation, encourage them to donate and make it easy for the needy to find the blood type they need fast enough.

Literature Review

1.8.4 Design stage:
We Design the required system, and design the database by ER diagram.
We use the prototype for the website and developing the interface (Nassr,et al., 2011).

1.8.5 Testing stage:
In the testing stage we test our website on the internet, test the functionality and find the bugs and errors.
Solving the problems of the system and meet the requirements of the user (Nassr,et al, 2011).

Methodology

1.8.2 Implementation stage
Determine the tools that we need it for the website including the databases we needed to:
MySQL
MySQL is a multithreaded, multi-user, SQL relational database server. Programming languages that can access a MySQL database include C, C++, Java, PHP, and Perl. The My ODBC interface allows other programming languages which support the ODBC interface to communicate with MySQL. MySQL runs on many different operating systems including Linux and Windows (Fredrick, 2009).
PHP
PHP stands for Hypertext Pre-processor. It is mainly used as a general purpose scripting language used to develop dynamic web content and can be embedded in HTML. PHP can be used as an alternative to Macromedia ColdFusion, ASP.NET/C#/VB.NET and the JSP/Java System (Fredrick, 2009).

Methodology

Methodology

The project scope is to manage the records of people who need blood and therefore donors can easily find them and donate to them and to help the public to stay up to date with all the big blood donation events.
The project is a Web-based system. The system demonstrates to the community about the benefits of donating blood, develop a management information system to manage blood donor records, Easy access to any information about blood type and places provided by sitting at home using the Internet, ease of blood distribution in various hospitals in Jeddah based on the demands of the hospital, and encouraged voluntary blood donate.

Project Scope

Project Scope

To developing a blood Management Information System to manage the records of the people who need blood so the donors can easily find them and donate to them.

Aims

Aims and Objectives

The Recommended Solution

The number of people who need blood is increasing in Jeddah and there is no enough blood available to cover that need. It is not that people do not want to donate blood, because they have no idea where they can donate and what are the benefits of donating blood to the needy people.
It is a very important facility for the people who are very busy and yet excited to know and be sure when they can donate instead than trying to find where and when they can donate if only they are free. In addition, when the employees keep many records for the same donor, human errors is possible to occur (TUAN, 2006).
Jeddah Blood Band website will manage the records of the people who need blood and make it easier for donors to find the people who need blood and the hospitals that make blood donation events.

From the questionnaire we conducted we found:
Almost half of people know about the benefits of blood donation.
Small percentage of people knows where they can find places to donate blood.
Quite a small percentage of people have donated blood before, and almost half of them donated only once.
Almost all of people have a positive opinion about blood donation.
Almost half of people disagreed about paying money for donors.
Huge percentage of people was rejected as blood donors before.
More than half of people think that the awareness and guidance are not enough in our society.
Half of people knew someone who needed blood transfusion and small percentage of them got the required blood quickly.
More than half of people think that building blood bank website would help to increase the donor's number.
More than half of people are worried about the diseases during blood transfusion.
Almost all of people who think building web-based blood bank will make it easy for donors to find needy people and donate to them.
And finally it was relatively simple difference but half of people think that the building web-based blood bank is better than building an application for smart phones.

1.8.3 Chosen Web Application Technologies
The combination of PHP and MySQL was chosen for this research project because of the following reasons:
They are open source which implies that they are cheap to get since one just need to download them from the net.
PHP It enables most developers get involved with dynamic web applications without having to learn entirely new set of functions because it is very similar to structured programming languages.
MySQL has very fast database management system and is also easier to use than many other database systems (Fredrick, 2009).

Methodology

Here are the most important steps that we have taking to establish our site:
1.8.1 Initial stage
Identify the problem.
Search for similar system.
Determine system Objective.
Read the available literature in form of reports and brochures.
Found a fife Researches, see it, read it and summarized in a tables.
Analyze the questionnaires and get results to identify the requirements and difficulties.
Collect the information that we need, then determine the target and also determine the qualifications and Features.
Use the Gantt chart.

Methodology

Since it is hard for public sometimes to know about the blood donation events, the website will help them to stay up to date with all the big blood donation events that any hospital in Jeddah offers (TUAN, 2006).
Educate the community on the benefits of blood donation.
Develop a blood management information system to manage the records of blood donor.
Ease the distribution of blood in various hospitals in Jeddah basing on the hospital demands.
Encourage voluntary blood donation.
Reduce human errors when employees keep the records.
To facilitate information publicize about the blood donation events of the hospital blood bank.

Objectives

The person who need the donate blood may use different ways such as:
Asking the family and friends for a suitable blood donor.
Do a several contacts at hospitals to find a Blood Donors.
Searching by the internet for donors by using the social media like Twitter and Facebook.
Use the Jeddah blood bank website to find the donors and the hospital that make a blood donation.
The best solution it is use the Jeddah Blood Bank website to help the needy to find blood donors in quick, perfect and safety way also with less effort. Thus To assist in the management of blood donor records and ease/or control the distribution of blood in various parts of the country basing on the hospital demands.
