(Ben Haggerty) Ben Haggerty, otherwise known as his stage name of Macklemore was born on June 18, 1983 in Seattle, Washington. Macklemore came from a musical family, so he had a strong passion as a musician. He started writing his own lyrics when he was fourteen during which his friends began calling him Mocklimore. Growing up in Seattle listening to West Coast underground hip-hip, he kicked-start his career as a performer with a self-produced mini album "Open Your Eyes" under the name of Professor Macklemore. Bio News Article 1 Macklemore and Ryan Lewis coming to Summerfest? Rumor has it that Summerfest officials have invited Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to perform their hit single "Thrift Shop" at the Marcus Amphitheater on June 29th!
It turns out that they accepted the invitation and the date is set June 29th at the Marcus Amphitheater. Summerfest officials say that this performance could put thousands of dollars in their hands.
