Transcript of Obamacare
Costs on average about $8,000 a year
However, cost is scaled to income Can stay on parent's health plan up to age 26
Insurance companies can't deny health coverage to people with pre-existing conditions
insurance companies can't place dollar limits on the health care they cover in your lifetime
cannot be denied preventitive services and screening, such as mammograms and colonoscopies, and it will be at no cost to them. Benefits for You Business Profitability &
Since there is a 12% deduction on someones income, Obamacare is not profitable for anyone who makes equivalent to or over $60,000 per year
this causes the debate that if you work hard for more money, then you would have to pay to preserve others (socialism)
However, small businesses are now eligible for tax cuts to provide income to their workers.
This makes it easier for small businesses to profit and expand
Large companies will be taxed more for their larger incomes
The community will approve significantly if Obamacare is made into a law It will also help those who cannot afford to pay for insurance Parable of The Rich man and Lazarus
Jesus' parable tells of two characters of extreme contrast to one another. One character is a man of great wealth while the other is a diseased beggar by the name of Lazarus. When Lazarus dies he enters into Abraham's bosom; after the rich man dies, he lifts up his eyes in hell. having done nothing to help the poor beggar in his lifetime, the rich man cries out to Abraham asking him to allow Lazarus to cross over form Abraham's bosom so that he may give him water from the tip of his finger. Abraham informs the rich man that Lazarus is not able to cross the void between himself and hell neither is the rich man able to enter into Abraham's bosom. Background 19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. James 1:27 Deuteronomy 15:7-8 Jeremiah 22:3 What the Catechism says on Obamacare Supports the idea of providing Healthcare Upholds the idea behind the scriptures and parable that was mentioned both writings make it apparent that healthcare IS a fundamental human right Western Front Obamacare VS Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus $1,000 - $2,000 penalty a year for NOT having it Community Responsibility The two perspectives People feel forced from Obamacare, because they pay higher taxes for people who are doing less work. It is their right to NOT want health care. Scriptures Faith in Action Presentation Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: To look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself to be poluted by the world This is what the Lord says: do what is right and just. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, fatheress or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place. If anyone is poor among your fellow israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted towards them. Rather, be openhanded and freely lend them whatever they need. As a community, people should there is a right to help those less fortunate than themselves 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. The official bible story ANY QUESTIONS? “Certainly, it is the proper function of authority to arbitrate, in the name of the common good, between various particular interests; but it should make accessible to each what is needed to lead a truly human life: food, clothing, health, work, education and culture, suitable information, the right to establish a family, and so on.”
“The political community has a duty…..in keeping with the country's institutions, the right to medical care, assistance for the aged, and family benefits” Straight from the Catechism
