Double click anywhere & add an idea Every two years the Intercontinental Study Tour is organized by W.S.G. Isaac Newton. It gives 25 students the opportunity to explore the industries and exotic culture of one or more far-away countries. During a trip of three weeks, participants visit a variety of companies and institutions and in between there is time for sightseeing and relaxing. To fully enjoy the experiences abroad, students conduct a research beforehand. The research is related to the theme and focuses on both the culture of the country and its industries. Global Travel Plan Once in a life time opportunity Dubai The first week of our trip we will stay in Dubai. We'll visit some of the megaprojects there and get to know Dubai and its industries during the excursions. The Imaginations Study Tour will start in.. After Dubai, the journey continues in.. Jakarta Jakarta is the capital and largest city of Indonesia. Located on the northwest coast of Java, it has an area of 661 square kilometers and a population of 8.5 million. Yoghyakarta After a stay in Jakarta the journey continues probably by train. The train will go to Yoghyakarta. The city is known as a center of classical Javanese fine art and culture such as batik, ballet, drama, music, poetry and puppet shows. An approximately 18 kilometers east of Yogyakarta city the Prambanan temple compound is located. Approximately 40 kilometers northwest of Yogyakarta another famous monument, the Borobudur, is located. It is likely that we will visit both tourist attractions. Imaginations visits.. Borobodur.. The Prambanan Temples Leaving Yoghyakarta, Again travelling by train, but this time to.. Bandung After a stay of 12 days on Java, this time the journey continues by plane to.. After a stay in Jakarta and Yoghyakarta the journey continues by train to Bandung. Located 768 m above sea level, Bandung has relatively year-around cooler temperature than most other Indonesian cities. Most important reason for visiting Bandung is the presence of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Established in 1920, ITB is the oldest technology-oriented university in Indonesia. Through its close links with the University of Twente, we expect to arrange some interesting meetings or excursions over there. Medan Lake Toba As a finishing touch of the Imaginations Study Tour a visit to Lake Toba should be one of the highlights! Located on the North-East coast of Sumatra, Medan is fourth largest city of Indonesia. After the visit to Medan and Lake Toba, participants tend to spend about four weeks more at the respective continent to travel at their own.
