This area provides the learner with the knowledge requirements in the various modules corresponding to the competencies, since it has an array of multi-media materials that enables project planning
It is a computer aided facility linked to the TRC
The area where course ware and cut-aways are produced.
The center houses the learning materials, CS, CBLM, Module of Training, Manuals, Textbooks and Training Aids
Training Resource Center
This area is a computer-based facility provides mechanism in assessing the completion of competencies and recognizes prior learning (RPL).
It houses and manages individual records in which written and portfolio assessment are conducted.

It is accessible to everybody.
The area insures that various inputs in the delivery of training are well maintained and in good order
Various test are conducted here including in-process QC
It manages quality and facilitates implementation of the developed QA system towards quality accreditation
The components provides value adding competencies as per the identified underpinning skill in the competency
This is situated away from the center, answers the issue of learning accessibility and flexibility
It enables the acquisition of competency regardless of the time and space thru multimedia delivery
It heavily relies on the institutional assessment

Training Delivery Mode
COMPETENCY BASED TRAINING (CBT)
Is a training delivery mode where trainees are given opportunities to learn in their own pace with the trainer as an integral part of instruction.
It is concerned with the attainment and application of knowledge, skills and attitude of the learner to a specific level of competency.
10 Principles of the CBT Delivery System
1. The training is based on curriculum developed from the competency standards
Learning is based on the curriculum modules
(Assessment based on CBC)
2. Learning is competency based or modular in structure
Learning can be achieved by modules/competency
(CBLM gives direction- Borrower’s List)
3. Training delivery is individualized and self-paced
Learning is done by the learner at their own pace
Treated as individual learners with different Characteristics, learning needs and materials
4. Training is based on work that must be performed
Learning is based on the actual workplace practice
Acquired training/ work experience are recognized through validation
5. Training materials are directly related to the competency standards and the curriculum
Training materials are self-paced and experiential
CBLM should conform to the CBC and Competency Standards
6. Assessment of learners is based in the collection of evidence of the performance of work to the industry or organizational required standards
Students are judged against each other (norm referenced Assessment)
Each student is assessed against the required standard
Students are not judged against each other/ Institution Evaluation Tool to be used to assess the trainee
7. Training is based both
on and off the job components
Learners are aware of the activities that has to be completed based on the curriculum
8.The system allows
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Workers and Students can have prior
skills recognized towards awards
life or work
Competencies assessed and
promotion and learning
9. The system allows for learners to enter and exit programs at different times and levels and to receive an award for modules (competencies) attained at any point (Multiple Entry)
There is flexibility for entry and exit from programs
(No need to wait for others to be competent)
10 .Approved training programs are nationally accredited
Learners and providers of training
are recognized in a national system
