Dance inquiry question
Transcript of Dance inquiry question
Time to find out what my classmates think!
ART: 6 People!
SPORT: 1 person.
Not what I was expecting. Lots of people consider dancing an art rather than a sport, even if it has a lot of characteristics of both.
So, in conclusion, dance could be considered both an art or a sport, and because there are so many things that make dance both an art and a sport, that it really just depends on your opinion.
What makes a sport a sport?
First, sports. A sport is defined as "an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment" Dancers compete all the time, and it requires tons of physical exertion, and most of the time the do it for entertainment.
Dance inquiry question:
Is dance an art or a sport?
Dance is defined as "move rhythmically to music, typically following a set sequence of steps." So, then is it an art, or a sport? First we need to know what each of them are.
So what about art?
Art, is different. Art is defined as "the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power." Dance is an expression of emotion and creative skill, and is much appreciated all over the world! It is definatly an art form.
