Transcript of Nazi Experimental Weapons

Landkeruzers
Some of these tanks could hold a crew of over 40 and were over 4 stories tall. Instead of being considered a super tank, they were more like a warship on treads. This tank never left the prototype stage because it was projected to take up to 20 years to make.
VTOL Planes
The Fa 269 was a German VTOL plane (Vertical Take Off and Landing) in which only a full scale mock up was designed, and all other models were destroyed during allied bombing raids.
Die Glocke
(The Bell)
Schwerer Gustav
(Great Gustav)
Wunderwaffe
(wonder-weapon)
Die Sonne Gewehr
(The Sun Gun)
Nazi Experimental Weapons
Term for many Nazi experimental weapons during WWII. Including VTOL planes, Landkeruzers, The Sonne Gewehr (Sun Gun), and many more. These wonder weapons were so outlandish that some were considered science fiction.
Hermann Oberth, a German scientist, developed plans for a space station where a 109 yard-wide concave mirror could be used to reflect sunlight onto a concentrated point on the earth. Essentially a big space laser.
The largest gun ever made, weighing 11,000 tons, the Schwerer Gustav was so large it had to be moved on special railroad tracks and fired a projectile weighing 5 and a half tons (11,000 lbs) with a crew of 1,000.
What some may call science fiction is actually real. The Bell was a Nazi planned time machine. Reportedly, the lead engineer to the project and many soldiers and scientists involved have yet to be found. Many believe that they actually made it because of the evidence provided. But, we will never know.
Nazi Fliegende Untertasse
(Flying Saucer)
This is another vehicle which may be precived as fiction, yet many eye witness accounts suggest otherwise. The eyewitnesses include Allied aircraft pilots, the pilots called these crafts "foo fighters."
This is belived to come about when a supposed UFO crashed in Nazi territory and the germans reverse engineered the crash to make said "foo fighters."
Luftfaust
(Air Fist)
The Luftfaust was a portable ground-to-air rocket launcher to be held and fired by a soldier. Today this may not seem like a big deal, but in 1944 it was. The waepon was not as effective as intended either, because it only fired up to 1,500'.
Published Poem
"First They Came"

"First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

My final opinion on this is that Nazi scientists and engineers were insanely smart. Unfortunately they fought for the wrong side and did what they did. Truthfully, without these advances in science we might have never made it into space.
