PHYSICAL CHILD ABUSE FACTS
What is physical child abuse?
Physical abuse is a subset of child abuse. Physical abuse involves physical aggression or injury directed at a child by an adult or caregiver. We mean physical abuse if an adult hurts a child – causing them physical harm, such as cuts, bruises, broken bones or other injuries. It can include hitting, shaking, throwing, poisoning, burning and slapping.
Many cultures around the world have different views of this issue. In many African and Asian countries, children are disciplined at home and at school with the use of whips.
It shouldn´t hurt to be a child !
*It's estimated that at least one child dies every week in England and Wales as a result of physical abuse. Babies are particularly vulnerable and are five times more likely to be killed than all other ages.

*Eight out of ten young people who've experienced physical abuse have also seen violence between their parents and carers.

*For every incident of child abuse or neglect that gets reported, it’s estimated that two others go unreported.

*Abused children are more likely to abuse alcohol and become addicted to drugs, and one third will later abuse their own children

Sometimes these can cause severe harm. In many western countries, this is not acceptable and against the law. This means there is no clear line of what constitutes physical abuse.

It all depends on where it is applied, and what is generally acceptable to the community. The bottom line, however is that, there is never a good reason to deliberately injure a child.
What are the causes of physical child abuse?
In There are many reasons why children, caregivers and other adults abuse children. If physical abuse is directed to a person by their peers, it will amount to bullying. On the other hand, if it comes from an adult to a child, it could be a result of any of the following:
History of child abuse.

Some abusive behaviours are a result of what they experienced as kids themselves. This makes them think that it is the right and only way of doing things.

Some adults see pain directed to people as an effective compliance method, and are quick to inflict pain to kids to get them to comply.
As a form of punishment or disciplinary action

Sometimes violence between adults at home can spill over to the kids. An angry dad may direct his anger to kids for no reason.Alcohol and other substances can make people loose self-control and may be involved with abusive behaviour that they would usually not do.
Domestic violence and Substance abuse
Signs and symptoms of physical child abuse?

Usually, children can exhibit the signs below, which can be a hint of an abuse.
*Unexplained recurrent injuries or burns
*Improbable excuses or refusal to explain injuries
*Wearing clothes to cover injuries, even in hot weather and aggression towards others
*Refusal to undress for gym
*Bald patches and chronic running away
*Fear of medical help or examination
PLEASE, BE BOLD AND REPORT THE PHYSICAL CHILD ABUSE.
PLEASE, PROTECT ME
OF THEM!

Some people may be mentally unwell even though they look
like any other person and may
be involved with abusive behaviour towards kids without realising what they are doing.
In many countries (example
USA) people have been
extremely violent and even
killed innocent people
because they were mentally unstable when they acted
that way.
