Samuel Taylor Coleridge born on October 21, 1772 died on July 25, 1834 He became addicted to opium
because of illness. He is best known for his long poems
"The Rime of the Ancient Mariner"
and "Christabel." English lyrical poet, critic,
and philosopher His Lyrical Ballads started the English Romantic Movement He had a close friendship
with William Wordsworth which eventually fell apart. He was elected to the Royal Society of Literature in 1824.
