Transcript of World Hunger
By: Brad Audet
What is world hunger
In 2010, approximately 7.6 million children died. Poor nutrition impacted more than 50% of these deaths. Every year hunger kills more people than tuberculosis, AIDS and malaria combined. Approximately 1 billion children don't get the appropriate amount of 2100 calories a day.
Effect in the world
Food donations - We can donate to various organizations, both food and cash. This won't change the world over night but we can build to feed everyone in the world.
Access to Education - Education is the best way to fight poverty and hunger. Education means more opportunity and more access to food and income.
Social Change - This is not easy to change but things like war pose a threat to world hunger. If we solves these issues we can change world hunger.
What we are doing
Sins against mankind
Today the world produces 1 1/2 times the amount of food to feed every person on the planet. With the average person in the undeveloped countries making less than $2 a day they can't buy the food. Hunger is caused by inequality and poverty.
World hunger refers to the many people world wide who currently face an insufficient quantity of food. These people suffer from growth problems, a greater chance of disease, starvation and death.
Scripture and textbook
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’
Death can not destroy the bonds of Christian community and love. Those who have died are a part of our community, but in new way.
