Jose Gaspar Rodriquez de Francia was like the George Washington of Paraguay. Rodriquez lived from 1766 to 1840. He is known for almost single-handed building a strong, secure and independent nation,
when Paraguay becoming
a country seemed
impossible. He was one of the
few Paraguayans at the time
who had experience in
government so he
was the 1st President.
Rodriquez is now one of the most important people in
Paraguayan history.
Paraguay's president is Federico Franco. His
Vice president is Oscar Denis and they took
office on June 22, 2012.
