sentence. We went to the park. Adjectives Tells which one, what kind or how many. The big, fat lion stared at the huge car. Action Verbs The physical or mental action of the subject. The man read the paper and looked up. Linking and Helping Verbs. A Helping Verb links a subject to a noun. Linking verbs & Helping Verbs Comes before the main verb & help state the action or show time. Links a subject to a noun or an adjective that names or describes it. The dog is fat. Arnold will paint the door tomorrow. Nouns A person, place, thing or idea. The cat ran around the house. Adverbs Adverbs tell how, when, where, or to what extent Roger worked hard on his persuasive speech. Des Adverbs Is a word that describe a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Roger worked hard on his persuasive speech. Prepositions Is used to show the relationship of a noun or pronoun to another word in the sentence. I danced before the party We made it to the treasure!!!
