"Thigh-high slits, short shorts at Rihanna's River Island show...the mood was more akin to a nightclub than a fashion show." (Refinery 29) Christopher Bailey’s collection had a youthful feel and early 60s style. His collection definitely had a glamorous yet rebellious vibe to it considering the chic leopard prints and the edgy leather ensembles. Jonathan Saunders’ Fifties-inspired collection mixed classic minimalist looks with pin-up inspired ones. He did a lot of patent and a lot of bustiers. But they were never done overtly. The patent was always balanced with something masculine. Christopher Kane started his runway with a glam military motif, working fur and camouflage together in streamlined silhouettes. He stopped at colored feather embellishments before hitting floral appliqués used strategically on dresses and blouses. Emma Hill of Mulberry showed her coat-heavy, print-and-pattern-laden
fall collection. The collection featured chic garments in a range of classic
Fall colors including forest green, dark blue, black and brown.
Silhouettes on the runway were large and dramatic with puffed sleeves,
fur collars and billowy coats. We selected 3 of the hottest
looks from the Mulberry runway show. Thornton and Bregazzi sent out sharply tailored silhouettes in a palate of red, black and white. Their collection was very wearable and even subtly feminine. They brought a refreshing playfulness to Autumn 2013. I’m basically obsessed with every piece, because this collection simply screams bold and beautiful, and anyone financially stable enough to invest in a garment will no doubt turn heads! Preen
