Levers
1. Lever-a stiff bar that rests on a support, called a fulcrum, which lifts or moves loads (Georgia Department of Education)
5. Levers come in three classes. (gdoe)
6. Each class is characterized by where the fulcrum is located. (gdoe)

7. In class one the fulcrum is placed between the the load and the effort. Example- seesaw, crowbar, and balanced scale.(www.ohio.edu)

8. In class two the load is between the effort and the fulcrum. A wheelbarrow is a example of a second class lever.(www.ohio.org)

9. A third class lever have the effort placed between the load and the fulcrum. A example would be tweezers or tongs. www.ohio.org)
10. Baseball bats and hockey sticks are third class levers because the levers is in the back hand as a fulcrum and the front hand as the force generator. (gdoe)
