to conceal his identity; it doesn't work. 1901 1951 1835 1938 1930 1836 1900 James Marsh was the first to use toxicology in jury trial Hungary study on identification of lip prints Police in the USA and France use mug shots Jean Servais Stas, a chemistry professor from Brussels, Belgium, was the first successfully to identify vegetable poisons in body tissue. They found DNA in finger prints 1984 to 1784 John Toms convicted of murder on basis of torn edge of wad of paper in pistol matching a piece of paper in his pockets 1670 Anton Van Leeuwenhoek constructed the first high-powered microscope. 1910 Albert Osborn publishes "Questioned
Documents," a classic in handwriting analysis.
Osborn goes on to become the greatest handwriting
expert of the early 20th Century. 1200 A murder in China is solved when flies were attracted to invisible blood residue on a sword of a man in the community Roman courts determined that bloody palm prints were used to frame a man in his brother’s murder 1905 American President Theodore
Roosevelt established the
Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI). Pepper spray widely used by the police as a force. pepper spray is made from capsicum and is colourless it is also made of hot pepper. 1982 Henry P. Rainforest pioneered
the first systematic use of
fingerprints in the United States by
the New York Civil 1000 Sir Francis Galton published
fingerprints to solve a crime
in 1853. First fingerprints used. 1864 Crime scene photography was
developed. 1859 Gustaf Kirchhoff and Robert Bunsen
developed the science of spectroscopy. 1879 Alphonse Bectillion develop first system to identify people
