The effect suicide has on society
Losing people who could change the world

After an attempt, people time and time again start giving talks about how to prevent suicide and how to get help
Can cause other suicides (Family members or friends)
Most people over look it unless it is effecting them personally
Ways to help
If you notice any of the signs of suicide lend a helping hand whether you are just talking to them or convincing them to try and talk to a trusted adult, doctor, pastor/spirit leader, or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255). Everyone is loved by someone and taking your life will always effect them.

The causes of suicide
Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, with more than 32,000 killing themselves each year.
Every 16 minutes an American takes his or her own life.
•For every 1 victim of homicide in the United States, there are 2 persons who take their own lives.
The loss of one employee or family member to suicide every 7 days for people who run businesses with their family.
Children who witness domestic violence are six times more likely to commit suicide.
In the past 45 years, suicide rates have increased by 60%
Mental-health disorders associated with over 90% of suicides
30% of suicides world-wide are in India and China
55% are aged between 15 to 44 years and 45% are aged 45 years and over
Males are four times more likely to die from suicide than are females. However, females are more likely to attempt suicide than are males.

Hate against the LGBT community
Racial hate (Examples: KKK and Hitler )
Stress from to much pressure (work. school, family)
Death in the family
Drugs/alcohol abuse
Mental illness
Terminal illness
Feeling incompetent
