Athena is the one who encouraged Telemekhos to go on his quest to search for his father Review: In the Hobbit, Bilbo set out on a quest with the 13 dwarfs and Gandalf the Gray to slay the dragon and take back their kingdom. During this trip, Bilbo found something from a gollum that relates directly into the Fellowship of the Rings. The One Ring. The start of the book: Gandalf showed up at the Shire to help Bilbo with his 111th birthday. Gandalf was greeted by Frodo, Bilbo's cousin and successor at the Shire and the main Character of this second book of this series. At this part, Gandalf set out on the first amazing quote: "A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins, he arrives precisely when he's mean to". This quote wasn't written in the book but was in the movie. The 20 rings were made with the assists of dark lord Sauron. But the One Ring to rule them all was controlled by Sauron. Who was using it to fight for the total control of middle earth until an alliance of Men and Elves stood up and fought for the freedom of the middle earth. After the defeat of the Sauron's army, the ring was retained by men but it betrayed him. Gandalf came to help his old friend celebrate his birth day, furthermore, to help Bilbo carry on his plan of leaving to shire in search of peace and quiet. The deeper reason for Gandalf to show up is because he wanted to help his friend give the ring up. Bilbo reluctantly gave the ring up. He then left the Shire. Bilbo left the ring to Gandalf who made sure that Frodo gets the ring and hide it in safety. However, in the process, Gandalf realized that this isn't just any ring, but it's the One Ring, the One Ring to rule them all after hearing Bilbo mumbled: "My Precious". He left the Shire the very same night he arrived to confirm his fear. Years after Bilbo left the Shire, and Gandalf was last seen by Frodo. Life seems to be normal when Gandalf showed up at the Shire again to check on the last but most important check of the confirmation of the One RIng. His worst fear was true, the ring that Frodo has is indeed, the One Ring, the One Ring to rule them all. He then sent Frodo away from the Shire but Samwise was caught and has learned to much, so Samwise too, was sent away with Frodo. While they were on the way, the two hobbits Merry and Pippin caught up with them and they too, joined the journey with Frodo and Samwise. On their way to the Inn. in Bree where Gandalf had adviced them to go, Merry and Pippin were taken by the talking and walking trees which helped them out of the junble, however, Merry and Pippin remained with the trees. At Bree, Frodo and Samwise met Aragorn, a ranger who is also the heir to the thrown of the acient people of Waternese. He helped the hobbits even though he knew that they have the ring. He saved them several time before the reached the empire of the Elves. Despite all this effort, skills, and his knowledge of the forrest, he was not able to keep the dark riders out at all time. They encountered the dark riders and were forced to fend themselves off and here is where Frodo was injured. Frodo and his friends managed to get to the land of the Elves and he was healed by the Elves. Here, the Elves helped Frodo and Samwise organised a group called the Fellowship of the Ring. The Groupd was consisted of Frodo, Samwise, Aragorn, Merry, Pippin, Gandalf, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas, and last but not least, Boromir. This part is an important part of the book, It shows how easily the heart of a mortal man can be plagues with negative forces. Boromir is a man, like you and I. Just like in real life, he and you and I can be plagued with bad influences and the ring did just that to him. He wanted the ring for himself and took Frodo and Samwise to Tirith, a city close to Mordor. Frodo fends of Boromir and set out to Morder, Mt. Doom to destroy the ring of evil once and for all. However, he was not able to bear the fact that he might endanger his friend, Samwise. Therefore, he set out in secret but Samwise was not to be escaped from. Realising the true friendship that he had, Frodo and Samwise set out on the mere impossible journal to Mt. Doom. Author: John Ronald Reuel Tolkien or J.R.R Tolkien (January 3rd 1892 – September 2nd 1973) was a British writer, poet, philologist, and was a university professor. He served the British Army during World War 1 and by the end of the war, he was a Lieutenant. To my believe, much in his writings reflect the horror of War even in the Lord of the Ring.
