A resume is a brief but detailed synopsis of your high school activities, interests, and community involvement.
It tells how you spend your time, what skills you have developed, and what you can contribute to a college/workplace.
What is a Resume?
A resume is most useful as a part of a job application
It is also helpful to have one for a reference when you fill out college and scholarship applications
Give anyone you've asked to write a letter of recommendation a copy of your resume

The first section should tell the reader how to contact you

Center at the top in BOLD:
Home Address
Phone Number(s)
Email Address
List the high schools your have attended starting with the school you are currently attending.
Include the school's address
List rigorous courses you have completed or are currently taking
Include your GPA if it is 3.0 or above
Montclair High School, 4725 Benito Street, Montclair, CA
11th grade: AP English, AP Physics
10th gradde: AP World History
List honors and awards your have received during high school
Categorize the honors and awards if you have more than one in each category
Don't forget to include any scholarships you receive

Top Ten Percent: 10th, 11th grades
Perfect Attendance: 9th grade
Honor Roll for 3.5 GPA and above: 10th, 11th grades

Scholar Athlete, 10th grade

List any summer activities that help you succeed in college.
Clubs and Activities:
List clubs and activities you were involved in during high school in chronological order
Community Service:
List the organizations you volunteered for, grade(s), a brief description of what you did, and total hours you volunteered

List high school sports activities and any city leagues you participated in.
List all work history
List name of companies in chronological order
Include where company is located
Include job titles or duties
You may also list other languages you speak
Final copy of your resume is due Friday Sept. 27
