When The Weeknd was 17, he dropped out of high school and ran away with his friends one weekend and never came back home, that's how he got the name "The Weeknd"
The Weeknd attended Samuel Hearne Middle school
He is camera shy and doesn't like pictures

Amharic was his first language.
The Weeknd was born as Abel Tesfaye, on February 16, 1990. Able was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario, and has a background of Ethiopia. He is currently 25 years old. When Able was a child his father was never around and his mother was always working, therefor he was raised by his grandmother for most of his childhood.

1. Do you think if your father was in your life when you were growing up it would have affected your career choice?
I'm not sure if it would affect my career choice because maybe if I had a father figure growing up I would have never ran away and became a singer.
2. Who inspired you to become a singer?
The people that inspired me to become a singer are, R. Kelly, Michael Jackson, and Prince.
3. How did you feel when you won the Juno Award for Artist of the Year?
I felt really happy and i also felt like i accomplished something with my music and im really glad i won.
4. How does your mom feel about your career choice?
My mom is vary sportive of me and wants me to be happy but some of the things i do she isn't really happy and sportive about.

It feels really grate and im really happy my fans like the song.
100 years from now i think The Weeknd would most likely be remember for being one of the only singers who doesn't give interviews and communicates with the world through twitter. I also think The Weeknd would be remembered for his unique hair style.

Abel's career started in late 2010. Able anonymously uploaded a lot of songs to YouTube under the name "The Weeknd". He released three nine-track mixtapes all throughout 2011: House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence. In 2012 he released another album called Trilogy. In 2013, he released his album Kiss Land, which included the singles "Kiss Land", and "Live For". In 2014 The Weeknd released new song such as: "Often", "Love Me Harder", and "Earned It". In 2015 The Weeknd released "The Hills" and "Can't Feel My Face".
