gregor mendel Gregor Mendel was born in 1822 and was an Austrian Augustinian monk as well as a scientist gregor was known as the "father of modern genetics" his most famous expirament was his pea plant expirament in this expirament he used 29,000 pea plants this expirament showed that one in four pea plants had purebred recessive alleles, two out of four were hybrid, and one out of four were purebred dominant well thats ok that we know that but what does it mean? well that shows that plant DNA is different so that any traits that th plants "grandfather had would sometimes show up in one if the new plants watson and crick are perhaps the most noted scientists in the biology department their discovery was in itself the DNA molecule francis crick later went on to crack the code that is in DNA but in order to discover the DNA mollecule they would knowingly or unknowingly look at stolen work Craig venter first human to complete sequencing of his diploid human genome in 2007. he was also the first person to sequence the human genome watson and crick known as one of the premier scientists of our time hes the "stephen hawkings of biology"
