the god of war. Aphrodite is also known as... Venus *Ancient Roman* *Ancient Egyptian* How was Aphrodite born? According to Homer, Aphrodite is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. However, some myths say Aphrodite was born when "Cronus took part of Uranus and threw it into the ocean. Then, foam from Uranus in the ocean gave rise to Aphrodite".
This is also said to take place at the island Cyprus. Trojan War Aphrodite was one of the couple people to play a big role in the Trojan War. In some ways, she is one of the people who caused the ten year war. When Paris was trying to decide to give the golden apple to, Aphrodite promised him the gorgeous Helen of Sparta. So, over Athena and Hera, Paris gave Aphrodite the golden apple. This caused the war because Helen (as Aphrodite promised) fell in love with Paris and went back to Troy with him. When Helen's husband King Menelaus found out, the Trojan War began. Hathor Fun Facts -Aphrodite means "foam risen" since some myths say she was born from sea foam -Unlike other gods, Aphrodite had no jobs-except to look pretty -Aphrodite had eternal beauty and never grew old *signs stand for love, peace, or beauty* What did Aphrodite look like? Aphrodite was a gorgeous goddess was chosen (by Paris) to be the most beautiful or the "fairest" over Hera and Athena. Aphrodite was usually pictured as naked, but her long, golden hair clothed her. A lot of the Greek Gods were attracted to her since she was "perfect in every way". -Aphrodite had over 15 children
