Tourism
is the travel for recreational, leisure, family or business purposes, usually a limited duration.

is a place of interest where tourists visit, typically for its inherent or exhibited natural or cultural value, historical significance, natural or built beauty, offering leisure, adventure, amusement and medical services for aging travelers.

is a city, town or other area that is dependent to a significant extent on the revenues accruing from tourism, or a country, state, region, city or town which is marketed or markets itself as a place for tourists to visit.


Batangas
is one of the top tourist attractions in the country; the provincial government contributes to the further growth of the local industry by hosting various tourism events in the province.

belongs to the Barangay of Municipality Bauan which are in the outlying area. It is a hidden charm of Bauan. It has an ivory-white sand beach with a serene view clean shoreline and pristine waters.
One can see the gorgeous seascape and its nearby islands of Anilao in Mabini and Tingloy.
Sampaguita Beach is one place where you will find calm and serenity – simple place with the plain beauty of nature.

• To increase the number of tourist arrival in Sampaguita Bauan through resort development in an eco-friendly way.

• To create awareness as well as provide employment to the local community of Sampaguita Bauan.

Site Validations

Batangas
is a first class province of the Philippines located on the south western part of Luzon in the CALABARZON region.
Bordered by the provinces of Cavite and Laguna to the north and Quezon to the east across the Verde Island passages to the south is the island of Mindoro and to the west lies the South China Sea
Bauan
is one of the first class municipalities in the region. It is the most industrialized municipality of Batangas.

Bauan
is politically subdivided into 40 barangays (including Poblacion), 36 of which classifiedas rural are and the rest as urban areas with a total population of 88,175 as of 2012.
CLIMATE

Bauan
has a very predictable climate year-round. Bauan’s climate has basically two seasons. The Dry Season is from November and extends up to the early part of June. July ushers in the Wet Season that lasts until October. Rainfall is at a maximum in July, ranging from 1.5 meters to 2.5 meters. March is the driest part of the year. The mean monthly temperature is 62 degrees Fahrenheit. The highest temperature experienced by then community is in the month of May at 96.1 degrees Fahrenheit, It is also outside the typhoon belt and there has been no disastrous storm over the last twenty years.

Barangay Sampaguita
is bounded by Barangay PitugoBauan in the East, Barangay Colvo in the South, Balayan Bay in the West and Barangay Locloc, Barangay Manalupang and Barangay San Augustin in the North.
The distance of Baranagay Sampaguita from Poblacion is 11 kilometers. It has a total Land Area of 114.9740 hectares. It is belong in rural classification with a soil type of Guadalupe clay that is suitable for fruit trees, vegetables and root crops.There are two rivers present in the Barangay Sampaguita; the Manalupang River and the Santol River. Agriculture is the major economic source of the Barangay. The power supply is distribute by Electric Cooperative; 94 household has a supply of potable water.

: the entirety number of population is 448.The female are 248 and 200are male. There are 105 families in the Barangay. The total number of household are 94 and the total number of registered voters are 94 with two precincts existed.

. Barangay Sampaguita is consisting of OFWs,workers, professional, small scale enterprise, farmers and fisherman.

Economic Sector.
Agricultural (crops production includes corn, root crops, vegetables and fruit trees) livestock, poultry and fishing grounds are included. As of year 2000 there are 2 motorized fishing vessel and 11 are non-motorized.

Access Condition to Attraction
Way from Manila to Batangas

Take the South Luzon Expressway with the blue lane. Drive all the way to “Batangas/Lucena/Legaspi exit”, the second to the last exit. As you acsend the National Highway, just go straight. Watch out for signs for Star Tollway. As continue on toward Sto. Tomas, you will see a large overpass, and a few meters on your right will be the entrance to the Star Tollway then take the exit onto South Luzon Expressway. Take the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road with the yellow lane straight ahead untill you reach the second exit onto National Road. Using the combined South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (Star Tollway) have approximate time of 2 ½ Hours.

Way from Batangas City to Blue Horizon Beach Resort

Take Star Toll way Balagtas exit. Then take the Batangas Pier road, at the end intersection turn right to Bauan (Batangas). After passing the Bauan Municipal Hall (under constraction), and petron Manghinao, turn left going to Mabini (Batangas). From here you have two options, either to travel by land or by sea. By land, just take the “Tulay ng San Pedro”, it’s like the boundary of the towns of Bauan and Mabini. When you reach that place, turn right. There is a Tricycle station there. Just ask them the way to “Sampaguita” (although the place is actually Locloc). Basically, all you have to do is drive straight no turning right or left. And By Sea, All you have to do is to drive straight to Anilao, Mabini Batangas after turning left at manghinao, there’s a free parking lot there for your vehicles (P 50.00 per/night). The speedboat is waiting there to take you to the resort in 10-15 minutes (P 1200.00 for 2-way maximum of 8 pox).

If you’re going to commute, take the bus from Manila (more or less P 150.00) to arrive at the Batangas City Grand Terminal. From here you have two options; the first option take the Bauan jeep for P 15.00 it takes 15-25 minutes, then ask the driver to drop you off at Citimart Bauan. Then wait for a Mabini-bound jeepney P 9.00 until you reach “Tulay ng San Pedro”. Then take the trike for a regular of P 150.00 to Sampaguita/Locloc. The second option from Batangas City Terminal, take the Bauan jeep it cost P 14.00 and it takes 15 minutes then drop off to bauan Public Market. Then take the “byaheng Sampaguita” jeepney (it will leave at exactly 11:00 am) It will bring you straight to the beach for P 33.00. It will take 45 minutes to reach the beach.
Barangay Sampaguita
is facing an environmental problem that could cause harm in the future to the environment itself as well as to the citizens. Here are some examples of environmental problems.

The roads are too narrow for an easy access.
Improper garbage disposal in the Sampaguita's coastline that could pollute and damage a very important source of living.
There is no health-center present in the Barangay which really in need.
The only public mode of transportation is tricycle going back to San Pedro, Bauan which is difficult for locals to have an easy and faster access near villages or Barangay.
Road signages and street light area too limited. Unpleasant odour from the animal manure is not on the right location that could also transfer bacteria to locals.

is a house of reef. The coral garden of Portulano is filled with the numerous corals such as table corals, stag horn, and lettuce corals in pristine conditions.

The best-known type of hospital is the general hospital, which has an emergency department. A district hospital typically is the major health care facility in its region, with large numbers of beds for intensive care and long-term care.



Hotel such as Plaza Hotel Bauan is an establishment that provides lodging paid on a short-term basis. Facilities provided may range from a basic bed and storage for clothing, to luxury features like en-suite bathrooms and offer meals as part of a room and board arrangement

Restaurant like Jollibee, McDonalds, Mang Inasal Chowking etc. is a business which prepares and serves food and drink to customers in return for money, either paid before the meal, after the meal, or with an open account. Restaurants vary greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of the main chef's cuisines and service models.

Police station (Bauan PNP) is a building which serves to accommodate police officers and other members of staff. These buildings often contain offices and accommodation for personnel and vehicles, along with locker rooms, temporary holding cells and interview/ interrogation rooms. They will provide safety and security for the tourist.

Government is the system by which a state or community is governed. Government of any kind currently affects every human activity in many important ways. Department of Tourism is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the regulation of the Philippine tourism industry and the promotion of the Philippines as a tourist destination.

Resort like Dive & Trek Marine Sanctuary & Beach Resort, Ligpo Island Hotel and Resort, Portulano Resort etc. is a place used for relaxation or recreation, attracting visitors for vacations and/or tourism. Resorts are places, towns or sometimes commercial establishment operated by a single company. There were 1.7 million visitor arrivals in Batangas during the six months to June 2014, and an estimated increase of 9.0% these coming months.
One of the best hospitality establishments in Bauan Batangas is the Bauan Plaza Hotel. It was opened last august 01 2014. According to the Manager of the hotel the number of tourist arrival in their first month of running was 203. It consists of both local and foreign tourist and they expecting more arrivals for the coming months.
We are expecting a large amount of visitors because of our scenic and breezy site in Sampaguita, Bauan that will be visited by those people coming from the nearby provinces and in NCR.

A tourist Circuit is defined as a route on which at least three major tourist destinations are located such that none of these are in the same town, village or city. At the same time they are not separated by a long distance. It should have well defined entry and exit points. A tourist who enters at the entry point should get motivated to visit all the places identified on the circuit.

Most of tourist attraction in Bauan form a part of a larger tourist circuit with other destinations in the vicinity. The tourist attractions are mostly located in the barangay Sampaguita, Locloc, San Pablo and Sto.Domingo and some parts of central Bauan.

Most of the recognized tourist circuits in Bauan are formed by having a number of hotels,Inns,restaurant, resorts and famous dive sites. For example Bauan Plaza Hotel, Dive & Trek Marine Sanctuary & Beach Resort, Bauan Divers Marine Sanctuary, Ligpo Island Hotel and Resort, and Portulano Resort.


FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND FACILITIES
Bauan is considered as a large town. Bauan will also be highly urbanized because of its growing industries and the near-operation of an international port.

Bauan is one of the first class municipalities in the region.
It means that Bauan has 55 Million and above annual income,in year 2012 they had an income of Php 199, 464,887.00 Last year, the annual budget of the Municipality is Php 292, 751,394.00.
This budget is for the whole department of the Municipality of Bauan.




The estimation of development cost of the Blue Horizon is
Php. 35,728.281.40
This project is ready for bidding. We will propose this project to the land developers / private investors. They will provide fund to develop the Blue Horizon Resort.

The development of this resort will generate an income for the government through taxes. It will also help boost the economy of Bauan. It will create job and awareness for the community. It will stimulate business diversity in Bauan, Batangas.

Being strategically bounded by the Batangas Bay is considered a plus factor in the economic development of the town. The improvement of the Batangas City Piers to handle ocean going vessels will increase the viability of export oriented industrial investments. The coastline free from rocks and other navigation hazards is suitable for industrial and commercial activities.

The other side of the municipality is a coastline fronting Balayan Bay well suitable for Wind Surfing, Scuba Diving and Deep Sea Fishing. There are now several beach resorts in this area frequented by foreign and local tourists

Environmental degradation
is a rising problem in industrializing municipalities like Bauan. The institution of waste management system shall definitely be a top priority of Bauan. Primarily, the system shall address the prevalent problems on solid waste disposal and the potential for recovery.

Afforestation
shall not only mean the reforestation of denuded forest covers but also the planting of commercial, industrial, fruit-bearing and other perennial trees in agricultural lands.

Pollution control
shall focus primarily on heavy industries and other pollution-emitting establishments. This shall mean subjecting these firms into strict compliance of environmental laws and requiring them to install pollution-abating measures.

Immaculate Conception Parish
The parish of Bauan was the fifth parish established in the province of Batangas which was made under the Archdiocese of Manila. Later in 1641, Bauan parish was placed under the guidance of the Immaculate Conception and hence called the Immaculate Conception Parish, although since 1596, the patron of the parish was the Holy Cross of Bauan or the MahalnaPoong Santa Krus.
